The Secret behind The Secret - The myths behind Cause and Effect

One of the greatest beliefs of human kind is that - what you sow, so shall you reap”.

Many call this the “Law of Cause and Effect”, others call it the "law of karma".. others call its the Universal law - " Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us"
One of the greatest laws of modern day.

So is this law RIGHT??

The blunt answer would be NOT IN THE FORM YOU KNOW IT.
For if it was a law, it should hold true for everyone. But does it??

I counsel and treat many patients who haven't done anything wrong in life but still are battling depression and panic.

While I also meet people who have not followed the rules of "righteousness" are rejoicing in happiness.

SO DID THE LAW FAIL.. IS ALL THE UNIVERSAL TEACHING JUST A FABLE ..
The answer lies in your understanding and expectations from the law.

Let me make it simpler -

1. The law says - "Whatever you put out in the Universe is what comes will come back to you"

- if you put thoughts into the universe, you will get back thoughts.

most people spend hours putting in thoughts of how rich, happy, and in love they will be.. the universe sends the same thing back.

but your expectation was different... you don't want the thought of owning a luxury car.. you want it physically.

so do the actions for the same, and then let actions come to you.

2. The law says - "Whatever you put out in the Universe is what comes will come back to you"

- you judge, curse and insult people..
you wait for the day you'll have so much money/power that people will be jealous of you.

- but then when you get money/fame/power, people compare you to your earlier self.. you feel angry.. you feel insulted.. cause now you don't expect them to do that.

but the law just returned what you gave in.

3. The law says - "Whatever you put out in the Universe is what comes will come back to you"

- when was the last time you joyfully took responsibility for mistakes you have done.
Your mind is full of anger when asked to apologise.

Its easier to give an excuse than an honest apology.

- you didn't put in an apology.. you put in anger and lack of responsibility.. that will come back in return.

4. The law says - "Whatever you put out in the Universe is what comes will come back to you"

- if you did good for someone, you expect that person too do good for you.

but than the law doesn't know that.

- if you did good for someone, he/she might never do good for you.. but good might come to you from a corner you never expected.

good came back.. but not as per your expectations, so it gives rise to anger and sadness in your mind.

5. The law says - "Whatever you put out in the Universe is what comes will come back to you"

- You are changing every year but you don't realize it. Your taste, your choices, your face, your body.. everything is changing.
But your mind wants everyone to remain the same.

- When you are putting change in the universe, how can you expect it too return you rigidity. It will return you change.

- I remember telling a patient of mine, no 2 relationships are the same. No 2 situations in life are the same.

I can go on and on with a lot of examples.. but let me put it this way -

The law cannot be fooled.
You can sit wishing that the universe grants you love, richness and happiness... but you don't take care of yourself.. then you are just trying too fool the law.

You want love, richness and happiness.. but not ready to embrace change .. then you are fooling yourself.

You want love, richness and happiness.. but not ready to let go of the past and focus on the now.. then you are fooling yourself.

The law is not wrong.. just that its not simple.
It requires a personality transformation.

It requires one to become completely self-aware.. of complete control over thought and action.. of complete detachment from result..

Hence the law is not wrong.. but its understanding and expectations are are..
